Today we know the universe had a starting point. What that means from the perspective of physics is a hot topic but one things for sure, this universe is expanding and compelling evidence shows it isn’t going to recycle itself. This wasn’t known during the Rambam’s time. So, what was so compelling to Him that the view of an eternal physical world was so out of the question? This course continues to tackle the contradictions within The Guide for the Perplexed and attempts to answer why the Rambam seemed to be adopting all three major views of cosmology at the same time – Platonic, Aristotelian, and Creation Ex Nihilo.
